The best thing I ever heard about cats was a comparison between cats and dogs:
A dog looks at his [owner] and says, "You give me food, shelter, kindness and attention; obviously, you are a god."
A cat looks at this [owner] and says, "You give me food, shelter, kindness and attention; obviously, I am a god."
